The core function of the A-CUPCB shall be to build capacities of the all segments of experts, organisations, and society that serve as stakeholders in settlement planning and design. It shall devise, evolve and deliver various typologies of training and capacity enhancement programmes aimed at diverse target groups. The primary intention is to sensitise and develop niched acumen in the field or urban planning and design. Engineers, architects, geographers, sociologists, bureaucrats, and development specialists that work in the field of settlement planning and administration would be offered training modules that range from basic and beginners to advanced techniques level. Training programmes will be of various durations and various themes as relevant to the local context. There shall be certain core and fundamental trainings offered periodically at regular intervals across the year. And also, there shall be certain customised training modules specific to organisational needs offered during specific times, based on demand and need. All training programmes shall be aimed at enhance of the capacities of working professionals and mid-career urbanists, though they can reach out to all seekers of information.

- Executive Development Programmes (EDPs) (1-4 Days)
- Capacity Building and Skill Enhancement Programs (5-7 days)
- Experiential Programmes of Urban Planning (14 days)
Training @ A-CUPCB-SPAV
The training modules and programmes shall cover various urban planning and design themes that are relevant in contemporary times and will involve theoretical, technical and management inputs. The longer the duration of the training period, more shall be the components of technical orientation. Also, training shall always be hands-on and with ample amount of case studies, data examples, design tools and best practices.
Above is a mere sample of some of the thematic areas of training and can be expanded to a large extent. All above envisaged training programmes shall be based on a training fee per participant.
About 09 training and capacity building programmes have been planned as a part of the immediate action plan for first year.
